Welcome to Poway
Poway, often referred to as 'the City in the Country', is in the County of San Diego. Poway is one of the few districts that is it's own City - resulting in their own Fire Department, Sheriff Department and award winning School District.
Poway Unified School District
Many families first move to Poway for the award winning school district which includes nearly 40 schools. The popularity and success of the school district has resulted it's expansion into nearby areas including Rancho Penasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch and the Del Sur communities.
Poway Offers It All
Poway offers more than just award winning schools. The city has a robust outdoor and sports community with plenty of hiking, sports and park options for the locals. Popular family weekend spot is Lake Poway, located on the North East side of town and offers archery, boating, fishing and family fun.
On any given weekend, you'll find Old Park hustling with friends, families and even horses. This area part of town feels like the old west and includes dining, shops and of course a park. Poway has many horse trails and it is not unusual to see horses in this area.
